Bug List:
  1. There is way too much traffic on archer road during rush hour.
WHY: Because almost everyone in Gainesville works with or at UF and everyone leaves for work at the same time and goes home from work at the same time so archer road is very crowded during those hours.
2. The UF wifi is sometimes really slow and/ or hard to connect to.
WHY: Because thousands of students try to connect to it at the same time and certain buildings and areas have limited connection.
3. My shower does not get as hot as want it to in the mornings.
WHY: All of my roommates and I shower at the same time in the morning before our classes so warm water is scarce.
4. The gym classes at student rec get filled up to quick so it is hard to sign up for them.
WHY: There are not enough rooms in the gym to hold classes in and not enough teachers to give classes.
5. My Iphone dies too quickly.
WHY: Because the screen drains too much battery life.
6. Starbucks coffee is way too over priced but I still buy coffee from them a few times a week anyway.
WHY: Because Starbucks has no competition especially on campus.
7. There is not enough parking available in Gainesville.
WHY: Because there are not enough parking lots especially those that you can park in without a permit.
8. It is too warm in my apartment every night and to makes it hard for me to sleep.
WHY: I am the only one who likes it cold while the other three like it warm.
9. I always have a bad experience on planes when I get the middle or window seat.
WHY: I have long legs and drink a lot of water. I like to have room for my limbs and not feel uncomfortable getting up to use the restroom.
10.  My apartment does not have enough decorations and it is boring me.
WHY: My roommates and I want to decorate it together but we all have different schedules and different amounts of money we are willing to spend on decorating it.
11. The mouth wash I bought leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
WHY: I am trying to spend less money and bought a cheaper mouth wash that does not taste as good as the more expensive one I bought.
12. The chair I am sitting in is uncomfortable.
WHY: I decided to sit at my kitchen counter which has metal seats without backs. I do not want to get up until I finish this assignment.
13. I am in the journalism school and I have to re- take statistics.
WHY: I am bad at math and especially bad at statistics and my future job will have no math involved so I am annoyed that I have to take the class.
14. I miss my dog terribly and I am mad that he is not at school with me.
WHY: My mom would not let me take him to Gainesville.
15. The drive from Gainesville back home to Miami is long and hard but I cannot take a plane.
WHY: Plane rides to and from places in the same state are way too expensive.
16. None of my friends will go to the gym with me.
WHY: They are either naturally thin and do not think it is necessary or do not care about their health or figure as much as I do.
17. Buying healthy food is harder than buying unhealthy food.
WHY: Healthy food is much more expensive than unhealthy food.
18. Every time I am behind someone at a stop light and it turns green they take too long to drive.
WHY: Because they are either on their phones or not paying attention and because I feel bad using my horn to make them move.
19. When I am at a restaurant making an order and the waiter refuses to write it down.
WHY: I know that there is a 99% chance that they are going to get at least one thing wrong.
20. My fingers hurt.
WHY: I wrote an essay for another class before doing this assignment and now my fingers are tired of typing and need a break.

Reflection: When I first read this assignment I thought it was going to be really difficult but once I started I realized there are a lot of little things that BUG me. Also, this assignment was super easy and only took me about 20 minutes to finish writing. Additionally, I think that a lot of the issues I wrote about are difficult to fix all on my own but a few of them I can easily change and make better such as compromising with my roommates about our apartment temperature situation.

  1. Hey Hannah,
I enjoyed your reflection and feel like we can all do a little more to eliminate some of our bug’s, but teamwork allows us to accomplish much larger feats than we can working alone and so some of the bigger issues may require some networking and advocation to conquer. I also listed on my post that healthy food is so much more expensive than unhealthy choices that it is basically cost prohibitive, perhaps this would be an area that could use more investigation and strategy to resolve. In my opinion your post was well written and concise, although perhaps you could give slightly more detail in future posts to help illustrate the problem further.

  2. Hey Hannah, I enjoyed reading your post. One frustration that stood out to me was that healthy food is much more expensive than unhealthy food. Personally, I am an athlete for UF and I have to follow a strict diet. Eating unhealthy really affects my body negatively, however, healthy food is so much more expensive and I am a struggling college student.

  3. I had the same fears about this assignment, but it took me a lot longer than 20 minutes. I think this was a good exercise because it forced us to think about little everyday problems, which you covered really well. I think you could have been a little more specific with some of your whys, or maybe that’s just a difference in how each of us would have explained each issue.
