1. Economic Opportunity: 'If you get to 700, 750, we'll cut your mortgage costs a little bit': JPMorgan is working on ways to reward you for improving your credit score, and it may be the future of consumer finance
A) Where opportunity was found:
B) Why I believe this opportunity exists: JPMorgan Chase is planning on rewarding people for having good credit scores. According to JPMorgan Chase the firm wants to provide incentives for people with good credit such as reducing loan costs if people lift their scores to a specific threshold.
C) Most likely Customer of this Opportunity: A person who would benefit from this is simply a person who meets the credit score threshold amount.
D) This may sound like a simple thing for JPMorgan Chase to accomplish, however it could be difficult for them to decide on exactly what the incentives will be.
E) I chose to write about this opportunity because I think this will motive a lot of people to be aware of their credit scores and work hard on improving them.
2. Economic Opportunity: Electricity and natural gas prices are falling
A) Where this Opportunity was found:
B) Why I believe the opportunity exists: Almost everyone uses gas in their cars, so lowered prices can be extremely beneficial.
C) Most likely the customer: Anyone who has a car but specifically for lower-middle income families.
D) Difficulty Exploiting: Easy to exploit.
E) Why I chose this Opportunity: I think this a very obvious opportunity for lower income families to save their money and benefit from these lowered gas prices.
3. Regulatory Changes Opportunity: AI may not be bad news for workers
A) Where this opportunity was found:
B) Why I believe the opportunity exists: For years now people have worried that smart computer programs and robots will take away millions of jobs for people. However, it has been found that Artificial Intelligence has actually had a very positive response among workers. Artificial Intelligence eliminates tedious tasks and allows workers to spend time being creative.
C) Most likely the customer: People in the workforce, especially those who work on computers.
D) Difficulty exploiting: I do not think this is going to be something difficult to exploit. It is something that will occur naturally among workers as mundane jobs disappear and they can begin to have more time being focused on the important parts of their job.
E) Why did/ see opportunity) As someone who will be joining the workforce in the near future, I thought this article was very interesting. I think not having to spend time doing a mindless job that a computer can do will allow time for bigger and better accomplishments.
4. Regulatory Changes Opportunity: 5 Big Regulatory Changes That Could Affect Your Business. Specifically The Affordable Care Act
A)Where the Opportunity was found: https://www.businessnewsdaily.com/7671-regulatory-issues-changes.html
B) Why I believe the opportunity exists: Changes in the Affordable Care Act have been worrying so many people within our country because health reforms have failed so many times before, so changing the Act will be beneficial.

E)These changes will be beneficial to all Americans
Hannah,
ReplyDeleteI think you did a good job of finding and recognizing opportunities within economic and regulatory trends. I like your opportunity with AI and that computer programs being used may not be a bad thing for workers after all. A lot of people think that computers should not be utilized for help in work environments, but you nailed how computers can help accomplish big things within your job in the future.
Hi Hannah!
ReplyDeleteOverall, you did a really good job figuring out the different economic and regulatory trends! I found it kinda hard to find different articles about them but you did very well. I really enjoyed your fourth article about regulatory changes affecting businesses. I am a big business guy and I found this very helpful and interesting to read!
Hey Hannah, I enjoyed reading your topics. One topic that caught my attention was electricity and natural gas prices are falling. Lowering the gas price is a good thing for people and myself because it is an everyday resource. This will benefit me a lot because I spend a lot of money on gas that I can save for my school expenses.
